The City Council of the City of Fairh,-)re (^fi in regular s=ssicn at the City Hal I,
M-nday, April 8,. 1957 with the following members present: Mayor E. 8. Overton,
Counci Inan: C. F. Belew, John ". Fleming, Jchrnie F. McDanicIs, elm. R. Ruffles,
Jr. and Barney L. Shull.
The minutcs of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read.

of Ilee Parker for Liquor Permit at the Parku,r House be approved. Upon being

Moticn by Councilman ',1cl)an1eIs seconded by C ounc11--an Fleming that the applica-
tion of Randall 'Aande•rs for buiId1ng permit be approved as cubmiIte,2. Motion
carried.
Crdinance ,'i246 introduced at the meeting of March II, 1957 and carried over �.as
called up for consideration and having been read in full Council•an Ruffles
moved ifs final adoption wh1ch motion was seconded by C ounciIman McDanieIs.
Councilman Sh(Lll moved that Section 5 and Section 6 of Ordinance #,2J,6 be
arr- ,nded to read as f o I lows: Motion seconded by Councilman Be I ew.
Section 5. There is hereby levied on every person who engages in the
-marketing of trading stamps to merchants within the corrorate limits of the
Citv of Fairhope, and every such, person shall pay to the City of Fairhope
an annual license of '0100.00 at the ti-e of comrencing to engac-a in the
marketing of trading stamps and on January 1st of each year thereafter, and
in addition thereto a sum equal to 10 per cent of the tale price of all
trading stamps so marketed, for the privilege of engaging in the marketing
thereof within the corrorate limits of the municipality, which shall be
due and payable on the 15th day of each calendar month for all stamps
marketed during the preceding calendar month.
Section 6. There is hereby levied on every person who enga9cs in the
marketing of trading stamps io merchants within the police jurisdiction
of the City of Fairhope, but Nithout the co r orate limits of the City of
Feirhope and every such person shall pray to the City of Fairhope an
annual license of 350.00 at the tire of co•n-enc i ng to engage in the
marketing of trading stamps and on January Ist of each year thereafter,
and in addition thereto a suT erual to 5 per cent of the sale price of all
trading stamps so sarketed, for the privileg:: of engaging in the market-
ing thereof within the police jurisdiction of the City of Fair'rope, which
shall be due and payable on the 15th day of each calendar month for all
stamps marketer during the preceding calendar montf-.
Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: Voting Yes: Council -en
Selew and Shull. Voting No: Councilmen: Fleming, McDaniols and ^uffles.
Ammend-ant defeated. Thereupon Ord i nance ,�1246 Y,es put on i is f i no I piassage
and on rol I cal I the fol lowing vote was recorded: Voting Yes: r.layor Ovu>rton,
Councilmen: Fleming, 1.1cDaniels and Ruffles. Voting No: Councilmen Delew and
Shull. The Mayor thereupon declared the Ordinance adorted and signed the same
in approval thereof. This Ordinance to be effective May I, 1957.
Councilman Fleming introduced the following Ordinance which was seconded by Council-
man Bel ew.

that the sold Ordinance be"finally adopted which motion was seconded by Council-

'Doting No: None. The h1ayor then announc-od that the motion for adoption of said
Ordinance had been unanimously carried and sigrod the same in approval thereof.
