Overton, City Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen M. 0. Bergl in, L. E. Blatchford, R. H. Brown, R. (;. Macon and J. D. Mason.) Mayor Overton called the Council to order, declared a quorum present and stated the purpose of the meeting to be the canvassing of the returns of the September 17th election in the City of Fairhope and thereupon the City Council proceeded to canvass the returns of said electiona and found and declared the same to be as f©llowsx (For Mayor) Walter K. Ruffles, Jr. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded returns of the election be approved by Councilman Macon that canvass of as submitted. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Berglin that the Mayor be authorized to enter into contract with Spanish Fort Estates, Spanish Fort Inc., for gas service at new sub -division. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Brown that the City accept bid of Security Roofing Co. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Blettchford seconded by Councilman Macon that the City deed the following described property to the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation. Motion carried. The west 18 feet of the East 99 feet of Lot 9, Block 5, Division 4, 'f the lands of the Fa i rhope Single Tax Corporation. Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Blatchfrord that the fol lowing Reso Put ion be afdopteeds Be IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to transfer the sum of $5,000.00 from the Electric Fund to the General Fund, Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Mason that the regular meeting of the City Council on §eptember 24 be dispensed with and the meeting adjourn to October I, 1956, Motion carried.
