COUNTY OF BALDWIN
Thee C i ty C ounc i l of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the
City Hall, Monday, August 13,. U956 with the following members presents
City Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, L. E. Blatchford,
R. H. Brown, R. C. Macon.and J. D. Mason. Mayor E. B. Overton being
absent. The meeting was called to order and conducted by R. C. Macon,
Mayor Pro-tem.
The=minute& of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as -read.
Mr. George Fuller, Jr. and Mr. David Fuller met with the Council to discuss the
possibility of running a 2" gas: main in proposed subdivision of Spanish Fort
Estates, Inc. Action postponed for further study.
Mr. J. E. Woolley representing the Eastern Shore Art Association, met with the
Council to request a 30 year renewal land permi-t in park area at Magnolia
Beach to be used as a building site for proposed Art Center Building to be,
constructed at no cost to the City and to become the property of the City
on abandonment of the Organization. Mo action taken.
Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Berglin that Mr. H. Payne
be -granted permission to build front porch 27' from property line on Gayfer
Street providing porch will be removed if adjoining property owners object.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Blatchford seconded by Councilman Brown that the City
approved Topographical map of Gooden's Subdivision in Fairhope, Alabama,
Including one foot contours and drainage specifications dated June, 1956,
by Claude W. Arnold, Engineer. Motion carried. Councilman Mason not voting.
Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Berglin that the following
bills be approved for payments Motion carried.
