County of Baldwin
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City
Hall, Monday, April 9, 1956 with the following members present. ,Mayor E. B.
Overton, City Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen:: M. 0. Berglin, L. E.
Blatchford, R. H. Brown, R. C. Macon and J. 0. Mason.
The minutes. of the previous regular meeting were.read and approved as read.
Bids on paving N. and South Church Street were discussed and held over for
next regular meeting of the Council.
Mr. Foreman and Mr. Patrick met with the Council, in regards to drainage
on Seminole Street. The Mayor -appointed Councilmen Berglin and Blatchfcrd
to check with Claude Arnold on this problem and report back to the Council.
Mr. Hugh Morrow,, Jr. Met with the Council and gave a report on gas extension.
No action taken.
Motion by Councilman Blatchford seconded by Councilman Berglin that the
subdivision of Mr. Welker, Oak Haven, be approved as submitted' to and approved
by the P.14nn i ng Board. Motion carried.
Motion by 6 ouncilman Brown seconded by Councilman Blatchford that Lot I of
Subdivision of Robert Mason and Thomas Brown be -approved. Motion carried.
It was discussed and agreed that the City accept applications for full 11 time
City Engineer.
The Planning Board requested the Council: to adopt Ordinance requiring
property owners to clean and cut vacant lots.

bills be approved for payment:
