The City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama met in special session at the City Hall in said town on the %day of ,�� , 1955, at otclockP.i•i. The nuet- ing was called to order by E. B. Witness my hand this the day r � , 1955• Mayor r The undersi-ned members of the City Council of the City of Fairhope, hereby accept service of the foregoing notice of special meeting, waive further notice thereof �'Lrjd consent and a roe thc.t said meetin; be held at said time and place for the purpose therein set out. } 0 the City Clerk, was also present and acted as clerk of the meeting. The chairman stated that a quorum was present and declared the meeting open for the trans- action of business. The minutes of the preceding meetin- were read and approved. The mayor announced that the meeting was called for the purpose of considering the matter of the opening of a street from Gayfer Street to Fairwood Blvd. and es well the matter of the lo- cation of such street and the acquisition of the right of way therefor. And the same having been considered and discussed by the City Council, Councilman offered the following resolution: IMETTZEt?S, TH Fairhope City Plannin; Commission has approved and recommended to this City Council the open- ing up of a street from Gayfer Streettp Fairwood Blvd. for vehicles and foot traffic, and has recommended the acquisition of the lands hereinafter described; KOT,'i THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairhope that Lbt 18 of Fairwood sub- division number 2 according to map or plat recorded in !..ap Book 3, page 53 of Baldwin County records be acquired for a public street for vehicles and for foot traffic from Gayfer Street to Fairwood Blvd; BE I`1' FURTHER PESCLVED , that the l.ayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to institute eminent do- main proceedings for the acquisition of such property for and as a public street for vehicles and foot traffic. The said resolution having been read in full Councilman moved the adoption of the same, Councilman seconded the motion, and the motion being put the resolution was unanimously adopted.
