HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-26-1955 Regular MeetingSTATE; OF ALABAYA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, September 26, 1955 with the following members present: Llayoz L. B. Overton,, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, R. H. Brown, R. C. Macon and J,. D. Mason. Councilman Blatchford and City Manager C. B. Niemeyer being absent. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read. MrStevens met with the C until in regards to building -permit in 4A IR WoaA . Sub-divisicnFoTThq Council referred Mr. Stevens to the Planning Board for approval of the sub -division before permit could be issued. Motion by Councilman Yason seconded by Councilman Macon that the City accept paving and. maintenance of Liberty Street from Pecan Street south to City Limits according to plans and specifications of Engineer Claude Arnold, dated August 1955, and submitted at this meeting. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Berglin tl.at the City accept Myrtle Avenue, Yupon Avenue and Jasmine Avenue, Park Terrace Sub -division, Unit #1, subject bo one years mainten- ance by oviner from date of completion. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman ItiMacon seconded by Councilman. Yason that the City vacate the following streets: Oak Street between McKinley Avenue and Dewey Avenue, Grant Avenue between Green Street and Hoyle Street, Blue Island Avenue between Grant Street and Hoyle Street, Lincoln Avenue between Green Street and Moyle Street, in the South- west quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 39, Township 6 South, Range 2 Last. Dewey Avenue as the same runs between the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 39, Town- ship 6 South, Range 2 East, as recorded in Deed Book Y, Page 704, of the Probate records of Baldwin County, Alabama. Motion carried. A group of citizens in the Magnolia Beach area met with the Council with a request that the application for Beer Permit for Leavin's Store in that area be disapproved. It was duly moved and seconded. that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. Approved Mayor Attest: Ci y Clerk
