HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-09-1954 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, August 9, 1954 with the following members present: Mayor E. Be Overton, City Manager C. Be Niemeyer, Councilmen: L. Be Blatchford, R. H. Brown, R. C. Macon and J. D Mason. Councilman M. 0. Berglin being absent. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approv- ed as read. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Brown that the application of Fairhope Creamery and Fairhope Pharmacy to hang sign be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Blatchford that the City Manager be authorized to secure services of Smith, Dukes and Buckalew to make the annual audit. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Blatchford that the following Resolution be adopted: Motioncarried. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE: WHEREAS, Marie Moore, Clerk for the City is goinel to be tempor- arily absent from her duties and it is necessary-0to have some designated person to carry on her duties during her absence NOW THEREFORE Margaret Smith is hereby designated and authorized to act as Clerk for the City during her absence and her signature as Acting Clerk shall have the same force and effect on all official acts, including checks drawn on the City's funds as the signature of the appointed Clerk. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be given the Bank of Farihope. Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Blatchford that the City enter into contract with the State Planning Board for one year as requested by the City Planning Board, Motion Carried. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Macon that the building permit of Mr. Dawson be approved as submitted. Motion carried. Several other items were discussed but no action taken at this time. It was duly moved and seconded that the meet djourn. Motion carried. .Attest: � ' City Clerk Mayor
