County of Baldwin
The City Council of the City -of Fairhope met in regular
session at the City Hall Tuesday, May 12, 1953 with the
following members present: Mayor T. J. Klumpp, City
Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, L. E.
Blatchford, R. C. Macon, J. D. Mason and E. B. Overton.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read
and approved as read.
Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Mason
that action on Ordinance # 220 be recinded. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Mason
that the Clerk be authorized to post in the Fairhope Courier,
Ordinance setting up Planning Commission and Board, final
action to be taken at the regular meeting of the City Council
on June 81 1953• Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Overton
that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to enter into contract
with Spanish Fort Estates, Inc., to furnish natural gas at
their subdivision at Spanish Fort and enter into contract
with Spanish Fort Estates, Inc. and Old Spanish Fort, Inc.
to supply residents of Spanish Fort development with water,
copy of contracts to be placed in minutes of the meeting.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Overton
that the building permit of Fairhope Ice and Creamery be
approved as submitted. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Mason
that the application fga=1,1MdkxJMxkxiidxb=tk=M11 of
Mr. B. I. Reynolds to build boathouse at Fly Creek be
allowed providing that if structure interferes or obstructs
channel traffic it will be removed at owners cost. Council-
man Berglin voting no. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Berglin
that the building permit of Cecil Pitman be approved as
submitted. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Blatchford
that the building permit of Mrs. J. R. Walsh be rejected.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Overton
that the Council elect a recorder to serve in place of the

Recorder, Mr. Rickarby being unanimously elected.
At the request of the Woman's Civic Club of Fairhope the
Council agreed to furnish trucks to pick up trash during
their annual clean up week, May 25 through May 309 1953•
Anyone having a full load or more to be charged at $2.00
per load.
Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Berglin
that the following bills be approved for payment;
