HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-13-1953 Regular Meetingr; STATE OF ALABAMA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Mondays April 13, 1953 with the following members present: Mayor T. J. Klumpp, City Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, L. E. Blatchford, R. C. Macon, J. D. Mason and E. B. Overton. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Overton that the following bills be approved for payment: Motion carried. Motion carried. a), Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Blatch- ford that the permit of Ruffles Co. Be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Macon that the City purchase new Police Radio Unit. Motion carried. Mayor Klumpp appointed a committee of Councilmen Blatchford, Overton and Macon to investigate the feasibility of extend-' ing the City Limits South and report to the Council. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Blatch- ford that the permit of City Market and Grocery to retail packaged beer be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Blatch- ford that the applicatiorniZqA the Elks Club for liquor and beer permits be approved, m mbers only. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Mason that the following Ordinance be adopted. Motion carried. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairhope that: The City of Fairhope deed to the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation the following described land, to -wit: The South 7 feet of the West 56.7 feet of the East 87.9 feet of Lot 11, Block 5, Division 4, accord- ing to plat of the lands of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation filed for record in the probate court 0 of Baldwin County, Alabama, in Miscellaneous Book #1, Page # In consideration of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation deeding to the City of Fairhope the following described property, to -wit: The North 30.5 feet of the West 12 feet of the East 117 feet and the .South 35.5 feet of the West 2.75 feet of the East 117 feet of Lot 10, Block 51 Division 49 of the aforementioned plat, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute deed in the name of the City of Fairhope for the above mentioned property and deliver same on receipt of conveyance from the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Macon that the application of Bessi �R l gers for permit to retail beer be approved in thees aurant only of the Fairhope Casino. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Blatchford seconded by Councilman Berglin that the City install culverts at intersections of new streets to be opened in the Magnolia Beach Area. Motion carried. The Auditorium and Gymnasium Committee reported to the Mayor and Council in full as to their findings. The City Council to act on above matter at a later date.
