HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-13-1952 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, October 13, 1952 with the following memebers present: Mayor T. J. Klumpp, Cray Manager C. B.-Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, L. E. Blatchford, F. C. Macon, J. D. Mason and E. B. Overton. 0�w Aotion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Mason that the minutes of the previous regular meeting be approved as read. Motion by Councilman Macon seconded by Councilman Overton that the rental of the Red Cross Building be left to the discretion of the Red Cross with a $3.00 maximum rental charge per day. The Red Cross to be judge as to tre use of the building and to assume responsibility for any damage. The City Council reserves the right to alter this arrangement at such time as they see fit. Motion carried. Mrs. Eve Olivere of the Centrql Restaurant and Mr. Jack EcDavid of the Barnacle appeared before the Council to secure a retail liquor license. Notion by Councilman Blatcrford seconded by Councilman P.acon that the City con- tact the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board for clarification on legality of the City issueing liquor permits. Approval or rejection of above permits to be made at next regular meeting of the City Council on October 27, 1952 at 7:00 P.M. Motion carried. ` Street numbering was discussed by the Council and Mr. Marvin Haney was to be invited to meet with City Officials at an early date to advise the selection of adequate numbering system for Fairhope. Mr. Phillip Mason attended the meeting to clarify questions regarding gymnasium and City donatting lights and water to the Public School as compariAto similar instances in other towrsof Baldwin County. Yotion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Overton that the City renew Gas Liability Insurance Policy. Motion carried.
