HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-11-1952 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met -in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, August 11, 1952 with the following members present: Mayor T.J. Klumpp, City - Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen M. 0. Berglin, J. T. Bradford, J. D. Mason, E. B. Overton and I. N. Steele. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read. On motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Mason the following bills were approved for payment: Burrough's Adding Machine Company $ 65.30 Weber Company 8.50 Klumpp Chevrolet Company 5.10 C. El. 1.20, W & S 2.25 Wharf Lights 23.86. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Overton that the application of Mrs. Lucille Hipsh for building permit be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Overton that the building permit of Mr. I. E. Garrett be approved. Motion carried. Curtis Willard met with the Council to secure additional space on the Beach. No action taken at this time. Motion by Councilman Mason seconded by Councilman Steele xxzmxdzd that the City cut the grass from around the Fairhope sign place4on the Bay Bridge Causeway. Motion carried. A Committee from the V. F. W. Club met•with the Council in regards to the street going into the Club. A Committee of residents of Sea Cliff met with the Council in regards to the strip of land owned by the City north of the Fairhope Yacht Club. The Council to meet with both committees in regards to the above projects. Motion by Councilman Bradford seconded by Councilman Berglin that the City install additional street lights on Mershon and Johnson Streets. Motion carried.
