HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-14-1952 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, April 14, 1952 with the following members present: Mayor T.J. Klumpp, City Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen M..O. Berglin, J. T. Bradford, R. H. Brown, E. B. Overton and Ira Steele. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read. E1. 13.549 W & S 3.15. Motion by Councilman Bradford seconded by Councilman Overton that the City Place a one page ad in the Public High School Annual, The Bay Breeze. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Brownseconded by Councilman Overton that Mr. M. Dyson be reappointed to Board of Managers of the Organic School for a period of three years and Mr. Marvin Berglin be appointed to fill unexpired term of Mr. John Wienand. Motion carried. There was a general discussion on the following: Closer relationship between the Chamber of Commerce and the City Council. Recreation committee to meet with the Chamber of Commerce to discuss ways and means of financing gymnasium and recreation center such as City sales tax, cigarette tax, gasoline tax and parking meters. Condition of parks and wharves were found to be in good condition, the parks having been mowed and new benches placed in various places. The City Sanitation Department is putting on an extensive spraying campaign with the truck and equipment loaned to the City by the Federal Government. Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Ift Councilman Steele that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. Approved Mafor Attest: — City Clerk
