County of Baldwin
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular
session at the City Hall on Monday, October 8, 1951 with
the following members present: Mayor T. J. Klumpp, City
Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, J. T.
Bradford, R.H. Brown, E. B. Overton and Ira Steele.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and
approved as read.
Motion by Councilman Steele seconded by Councilman Brown
that the following bills be approved for payment:

Motion by Councilman Bradford seconded by Council an
Brown that the City place ad in the Alabama Legionnaire.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Steele seconded by Councilman
Berglin that the application of Mr. Strand for permit to
build greenhouse on Oak Street be approved subject to
approval of the City Manager. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Steele seconded by Councilman
Bradford that the members of the Police Force be given
a $15.00 month increase in salary. Motion carried.
A Committee representing the Fairhope Dance Club met
with the Council to discuss the possibility of continueing
to use the Country Club one night a month for their dances.
No action taken until it could be discussed with the
committee appointed to supervise activities of the
Country Club.
After a general discussion the Council decided to abandon
the idea of securing the sprayer truck from the County.
The bu'lding permit of Robert Walker was held over for
further information.
Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Steele
that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. -
