HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-10-1951 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAYA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monda , September 10, 1951 with the following members present: 'Mayor T.J. Klumpp, City Supt. C. B..Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, J. T. Bradford, R.H. Brown & E. B. Overton. Councilman Steele being absent. On motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Berglin the minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Overton that the following bills be approved for payment: Ponder Company- 2.90 Yeilding Bros. 6.11 Nelson Radio and Supply 1-7.88 J. E. El. 1.03; W & S 2.25 Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Bradford that Smith Dukes and Buckalew be employed to make annual audit for the City. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Overton that the application of A. E. Schermer for addition to build- ing on Fairhope Avenue be approved. Councilman Bradford voting No.. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Berglin that the City place a one page -ad in the Gulf States Magazine. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Berglin that the City install an additional fifty feet to the foot- ball bleachers. Motion carried. Yotion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Bradford that the City extend gas line 2700 feet South from Highway 31, approximately 67000 feet East of Spanish Fort. Motion carried. A committee representing the Volunteer Fire Department met with the Council to discuss the possibility of securing a better truck for the fire department. Motion by Councilman Bradford seconded by Councilman Brown that the City prepare South Church Street for paving, the cost of the paving to be paid by the property owners. Motion carried. The Council discussed the possibility of obtaining a new mower, building a road to Fly CreeK_ to accommodate commercial fisher- men and fixing the beach parks. No action was taken until further information could be obtained. It was discussed and decided by the Council to discontinue the practice of hauling trash for property owners �rti,� he 04_F�� Motion by Councilman Brown_ seconded by Councilman Bradford that the meeting adjourn.
