HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-11-1951 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall on Monday, June 11, 1951 with the following members present: Mayor T. J. Klumpp, City Superintendent C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, J. T. Bradford, R. H. Brown and Ira Steele. Councilman Overton being absent. On motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Brown the minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read. Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Berglin that the following bills be approved for payment: General: Central Restaurant 10.65 Gill Stationery Co. 3.00 Gaston Motor Co. H. Simmons to retail package beer at Simmons Feed and Seed Store be approved. Motion carried. On motion by Councilman Steele seconded by Councilman Bradford the'follo*ing.:ri�solution.was_-unanimously adopted& Be it resolved that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to acquire right of way for street either by gift or purchase or if necessary to file proceedings to condem right of way connecting North St. from Greeno Road to intersect with Gayfer Street, street not to be less than 60 feet wide. The Mayor is also authorized and directed to secure right of way to widen North St. to 60 feet. Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Berglin that the Electric and Gas Depgrtments increase their monthly payments to General Fund for office expense to $200.00 each. Motion Carried. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Bradford that the salary of the Clerk and Assistant Clerk be increased 10%. Motion carried. It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting meetlooladjourn. Motion carried. Approved: mayor Attest: City Clerk
