County of Baldwin
The City Council of theCity of Fairhope met in regular
session at the City Hall, Monday, November 27, 1950 at
7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor
T. J. Klumpp, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, J. T. Bradford,
R.H. Brown, E. B. Overton and Ira Steele.
On motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman
Bradford the minutes of the previous regular meeting were
read and approved as read.
Motion by Councilman Steele seconded by Councilman Bradford
thet the following Resolution be adopted!
WHEREAS, -The assessment of and on all property and subjects
of taxation liable for taxes in the City of Fairhope for
the year 1950 having been made by Marie Moore, the person
designated by the City Council of the City of Fairhope, Ala.
to assess such taxes, and having been returned to the Council
all in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama and
of the City of Fairhope;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City
of Fairhope will sit between the hours of 7:39 o'clock P.M.
and 9:00 o'clock P.M. on the llth day of December 1950,
to hear and determine any and all objections to such
assessment of City Taxes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That The Mayor of the City of Fairhope
and the Clerk of the City of Fairhope be and they are hereby
directed to cause notice of such assessment of taxes, and of
the time and place for hearing and determining objections
thereto to be given by publication in the Fairhope Courier,
in its issues of November 30 and December 7, 1950.
Motion carried.
The following Ordinance was introduced by Councilman Berglin.

B.e It Resolved that all bills for Natural Gas Service rendered
by the City of Fairhope to consumers of natural gas shall be
due when rendered and delinquent ten. -'.days after date thereof
and unless paid before the delinquent date there shall be
added thereto as a penalty for nonpayment and the cost of
collection the sum equal to 33 1/3% of the original amount
thereof, the same to be collected as a part of the bill.
Councilman Steele moved that the reles be suspended and unanimous
consent be given for immediate consideration of and action on
said ordinance, which motion was seconded by Councilman Brown
and upon the motion being put to vote the following vote was
recorded: Yeas, Mayor Klumpp and Councilmen Berglin, Bradford,
Brown, Overton acid Steele; Nays, None. The Nayor thereupon
declared that the motion for unanimous consent for immediate
consideration of and action on said Ordinance had been unanimously
tarried. Councilman Bradford thereupon moved that the
said Ordinance be finally adopted, which motion was seconded
by Councilman Overton and upon said motion being put to vote
the following vote was recorded:
Yeas, Mayor Klumpp, Councilmen Berglin, Bradford, Brown,
Overton and Steele: Nays, None, The Mayor then announced that
the motion for adoption of said Ordinance had been unanimously
carried and signed the same in approval thereof.
Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Berglin
that the following form be approved for collection of
delinquent taxes. Motion carried.

if it is to be found and if not on any other real or
personal property belonging to said

interest and costs, under authority of Article 1, Chapter 15
of Title 37 of the Code of Alabama 1940.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA
WHEREAS, moneys are deposited monthly in the Bond
Cushion Fund of the Trust Department of the Merchants
National Bank of Mobile, Alabama for the purpose of pay-
ing outstanding Gas Revenue Bonds and Interest to case of
default, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article V, Section VIII
of the indenture between the City of Fairhope Alabama,
a municipal corporation and The Merchants National Bank of
Mobile as Trustee dated February 1st,, 1950, so long as
the City shall not be in default, it may at any time from
time to time at its option cause any or all of the moneys
in the Bond Cushion Fund which the City may determine shall
not be needed during the then ensuing six calendar months
for the purpose for which said. fund is created, to,be in-
vested in any securities which are direct general obliga-
tions of the United States of America or which are uncon-
ditionally guaranteed as to both principal and interest by
the United States of America. In the event of any such
investment, such securities together with all income derived
therefrom shall become a part of the fund from which moneys
were used to make such investment, and shall be held by the
ddpository therefor to the same extent as if they were
moneys on deposit in such fund.
NOW THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Fairhope, Alabama that the Merchants National
Bank of Mobile as Trustee, G.5 authorized to invest
accumulated funds in multiples of $1 000 Series G, United
States Saving Bond, Interest Rate ;X
