HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-13-1950 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, March 13, 1950 with the following members present: Mayor, T.J. Klumpp, City Supt. C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin, J. T. Bradford, R.H. Brown, E. B..Overton and Ira Steele. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. On Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Steele the following bills were read and approved for payment: Standard Service Station, General Burford-Toothaker Tractor Co. Burroughs B. F. Elect. 1.40 W & S 1.75 Ball Park Water 1.25 Country Club Elect. .83 Water 1.25 Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Bradford that the application of Sam Dyson for permit to build station on Lot 1, Block 5, Div. 4, be allowed. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Bradford that the City purchase two smoke masks, two raincoats and two pair boots for the volunteer Fire Department. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Brown that Eugene Bosby be given a contract for garbage collection for a period of two years. Motion carried. --- It was discussed and decided that for the convenience of the public the office in City Hall remain open during lunch period from 12 Noon to 1:00 P.M. beginning April 1, 1950. Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman Steele that the one hour parking zone be extended South on Section St. to include Bay Shore Seafood Co. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Bradford seconded by Councilman Brown that the salary of the Clerk be increased $25.00 per month. Motion carried. Motion by Councilma n Berglin seconded by Councilman Overton that the meeting adjourn in unadjourned session to meet on 1 ,1950 at Motion carried. Approved Attest _ Clerk Mayor
