County of Baldwin
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in
regular session at the Town Hall Tuesday April
81 1947 with the following members present:
Mayor Howard Ruge, Councilmen: J. H. Bennett,
C. A. Gaston, H. P. Kamper, W. 0. Keeble and J.O.
Stimpson.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were
read and approved.
The following bills were allowed:

Ordinance #176 introduced at previous meeting and
carried over to next regular meeting for final
consideration was called up for consideration and
having been read in full Councilman Gaston moved its
final adoption which motion having been seconded by
Councilman Kamper, the Ordinance was put on its final
passage and on roll call was adopted. Voting yea:
Mayor Ruge, Councilmen: J. H. Bennett, C. A. Gaston,
H. P. Kamper, W. 0. Keeble and J. 0. Stimpson.
Voting nay: None. The Mayor thereupon declared the
Ordinance adopted and signed the same in approval
thereof.
Motion by Councilman Kamper seconded by Councilman
Gaston that the application of R. E. Stapleton for
permit to build garage on Lot 7 Block 16, Magnolia
Beach be allowed. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman C. A. Gaston seconded by Council-
man J. 0. Stimpson that Miss Mamie Emrich be granted
permit to make addition to house 24 ft. from Pecan Street.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Stimpson seconded by Councilman
Bennet that the Town take a one page ad in the 1948
issue of Gulf States Guide. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Bennett seconded by Councilman
Stimpson that the Mayor be authorized to negotiate
for securing the Gooden & Clemens leasehold adjacent
to the present Ball Park site. Motion Carried.
Motion by Councilman J.H.Bennett seconded by Council-
man J.O. Stimpson that the Mayor be authorized to
contract for the purchase of a Burroughs billing machine.
Motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn.

AN ORDINANCE # 176
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF FAIRHOPE:
Section 1: From and after the adoption of this
ordinance it shall be unlawful for person, firm,
corporation or association holding a license issued
by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board or
a license or permit issued by the Town of Fairhope
for the purpose of selling alcoholic beverages to
exchange, barter, give or sell 2zxkkaxganaaa 1xpziQk1
any alcoholic beverages to the general public
on week days between the hour of midnight and the
hour of 8 A.M. of the day following, or between the
hour of midnight Saturdays and 8 A.M. Monday following.
Section 2: Any person, firm, corporation or
association who shall violate this ordinance shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not
less than $1.00 or not more than $100.00 or sentenced
hard labor for the town for not more than 100 days,
either or both, and upon conviction of violating this
ordinance any license or permit issued by the Town of
Fairhope shall be revoked instanta.
