COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The Town Council of the Town of'Fairhope
met in regular session at the Town Hall
Tuesday May 14, 1946 at 7:30 P.M. with
the following members present: Howard Ruge
Mayor, Councilmen: J.H. Bennett, C.A.
Gaston, H.P. Kamper, W.O. Keeble and J.O.
Stimpson.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting
were read and approved.

Councilman C.A. Gaston offered the following
resolution and moved its adoption, seconded
by Councilman H.P. Kamper:
Sullivan -Ross Company, having completed the
preliminary study of the possibilities of a
natural gas transmission and distribution
system for the Town and having found that
such a system is sound and feasible and having
prepared and presented for approval and accept-
ance a complete set of plans and specifications
covering the construction of the system, and
The Council having made an examination of these
plans and specifications and having found that
with two exceptions, that they are to the satis-
faction of the Town, and
Sullivan -Ross Company, agreeing to the additions
of the following two paragraphs to the plans:
FIRST: That the Town shall have the right to
transfer any pipe or pipes from street to street
or from town to town and to increase or decrease
the size of any pipe or pipes at it's option,
provided that any such changes resulting in in-
creased work or material cost shall provide for
increased conpensation and any changes resulting
in decreased work or material cost shall pro-
vide for a deduction in the amount of the con-
tractors conpensation.
SECOND: That all materials purchased for the
project under the plans and specifications
and not actually used in the construction of
the project shall become the property of the
Town and shall be delivered in good order to
the Town by the contractor, and any labor cost
resulting from non-use of such material shall
be a credit on any contract of construction.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the Town receives and approves the plans
and specifications as prepared by Sullivan -
Ross Company and acknowledges the completion
to it',s satisfaction of the preparation and
delivery of the plans and specification under
the terms of the contract entered into between
the Town and Sullivan -Ross Company on November
14, 1945.
Motion by Councilman H.P. Kamper seconded by
Councilman J.H. Bennett That the Town take a
one page ad in the 1947 issue of the Gulf
States Guide. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman J.O. Stimpso n seconded
by Councilman C.A. Gaston that the application
of James Coleman to erect sign at Marine
Supply Company be allowed subject to inspect-
ion. Motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the
meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
