COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session
at the Town Hall, Monday December 239 1940 at.7:30 P.M. with
the following members present: Howard Ruge, Mayor, Councilmen:
Sam Dyson, C .A. Gaston, H.P. Kamper and M..O. Berglin.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved
as reads

was moved by Councilman X.0. Berglin and seconded by Council-
H.P. kamper that the offer of the Fairhope Single Tax Corp.
School of Organic Education, concerning transfer of Commings
l to the.Town of Fairhope,; for public use, be accepted as
agreement and resolutions tendered the Town and that the
y Town deposit the sum of $200.00 together with an equal sum
V tendered by the Fairhope Single Tax -Corp., to be used toward
repairs to the structure, realizing that the community has
urgent need for such building and prmmises and that every rea-
sonable effort will be made to provide for necessary maintenance,
that the best interests of the community will be served. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Councilman H.P. Hamper and seconded by Council-
man Sam Dyson that the building application of Mrs. Carrie
McConnel be approved as per plans and specifications on file.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman M.Q. Berglin and seconded by Council-
man H.P. Kamper that the offer of G.C. Baldwin to transfer Lot
16 in Volanta, be accepted for use as public right-of-way.
Motion carried.

such ordinance being
as follows:
An ordinance providing that application for erection of
buildings on Lots in Block one, division two, fronting Fels
Ave., provide that no building shall be erected closer than
fifteen feet from the property line on the south.
It was moved by Councilman M.O. Berglin and seconded by
Councilman H.P. Kamper that all rules of the Town Council of
the Town of Fairhope, Alabama, which might prevent,, unless sus-
pended, the passage and adoption of such ordinance at this
meeting, be and are hereby suspended for the purpose of per-
mitting ` the passage of said amendment to Ordinance #83, at this
meeting.
The question being upon the adopting of said motion and
the suspension of such rules, the roll was called with the
following results:_ Ayes: -Mayor Ruge,: Councilmen Pamper, $yson,
Gaston and Berglin. Hayes: None
Councilman H-OP. Kamper moved that the ordinance be placed
upon its final passage. Councilman Dyson seconded the motion.
The question being put upon the placing of said ordin-
ance upon its final passage the toll,was called with the
following results:- Ayes:"Mayor Ruge, Councilmen Dyson, Kamper,
Gaston and Berglin. Nayes; None
•r- The Mayor declared the motion carried and the ordinance
adopted and signed same in approval therof.
It'was duly moved and seconded the meeting adjourn. Motion
carried.

COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in special
session a t the Town Hall, Monday 16, 1940 at _7 0O P.M.
with the following memberw presents Howard Ruge, Mayor,
Councilmen: H.P. Kamper, M.O. Berglin, C.A. Gaston, Sam
Dyson and J.0. Stimpson, the same constituting the full
membership of the Town Council.
It was moved by Councilman G.A. Gaston and seconded by
Councilman M.O. Berglin that the application for building
permit by A.R. Rockwell be approved as per sketch and
specifications on file. Motion carried.
< It was moved by Councilman T.O. Stimpson and seconded by
Councilman H.P, Ka.mper that the building application of
5•"'Dr. Owen Minnich be -approved as per plans and specifications
on file. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman M.O. Berglin and. seconded by
Councilman J.O. Stimpson that the application of Rudotph
Tuveson for building permit be approved as per plans.pre-
sented. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by
Gouneilman J.O. Stimpson that the application of Dr. H.C.
Jordan to erect sign be approved as per sketch presented.
Motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded the meeting adjourn. Motion
carried.
