HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-25-1940 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABA'SA C OUITI TY OF BALDVI IN The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session at the Torn Hall„ Monday, November 25, 1940 at 7: 30 P.M. with the following members present: Howard Ruge, Mayor, Councilmen: H.P. Kamper, C.A. Gaston,'Sam Dyson, Y.O. Berglin and J.O.. Stimpson, the same constit- uting the full membership of the Town Council. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved as read. It was moved by Councilman J.O. Stimpson and seconded by Councilman C.A. Gaston that the application for a building permit by Fairhope Coal & 8upnly be granted. I4.otion carried. It was moved by Councilman Y.O. 'Berglin and seconded by Councilman H.P. Kamper- that the application for the erection of a sign by Stubblefield and Astrella, be granted ^' -if such sign be installed in approved manner. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman I.1.0. Berglin and seconded by Council man C.A. Gaston that the Town of Fairhope make a p10.00 Red Cross Roll Call contribution. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by Council- man Sam Dyson that the salary of Kenneth Cain be raised to $85.00. per month, effective Nov. loth, 1940. Ua6ion carried. It was moved by Councilman H.P. Samper and seconded by Cou,*cil- man J.O. Stimpson that the Mayor be authorized to arrange for a wider right of way on Ingleside Ave., south from Morphy for a distance of approximately one half mile. Motion carried. On motion of Couniclman C.A. Gaston and seconded by Council man ri.P. &imper the following resolution was unanimously adopt- ed; I!=EAS, the assessment .of and on all property and sub- jects of taxation liable for taxes in the Town of Fainco-oe for the year 19401, having been made by I::r. Rudolph Cromartie, the person designated by the Town Council of the Town of Fair - hope, Alabama, to assess such taxes, and having heen returned to the Council, all in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama and of the Town of Fairhope; TFi7,,REFOIT+I, BL IT RESOLITIBID, that the Town Council of the Town of Fairhope will sit between the hours of 10 o' clock A.M. and 12 o'clock noon on the 16th day of December, 1940,' in the office of the I,ayor of the Town of, Fairhope, to hear and det- ermine any and all objections to such assessment of town taxes.
