The Town Council of the Town of. Fairhope met in regular
session at the To= Hall,; Monday June 121, 1939 at 7:30
P-11. with the following members present: Howard Ruge,
-ayor, Councilmen: 1:.O. Berglin, Sam Dyson,, C.A. Gaston,
J.O. Stirnpson and H.P. Kamper, the same constituting the
full membership of the Town Council.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read:

The following ordinance No. itJ7 was introduced by H.P.
Kamper, read in full. by the Clerk and considered by the. Council
�r said ordinance being as follows:
BE TT ORDAINED BY THE T07N COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE,
ALABAZi TA. , AS FOLLO'TS: 'of-- / W?
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to park
any vehicle between the hours of 8.'A*M. and 6 Poll. for a
longer continuous period than one hour on the streets of
Fairhope in the business section of the Toyrn of Fairhope on
Fairhope Ave. between Church Street and Bancroft Street and
on Section Street between Johnson Street on the South and
1a.gnolid Ave., on the north, except on Sundays.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive
a vehicle into any street marked with a stop sign, without
first bringing such vehicle to a complete stop and giving
traffic in such street ample time to clear the intersection,
before driving into such street.
Section 3. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle on
the west side of Mobile Ave. from Fairhope Ave. to Tier Street
at any t ime�.
Section 4. Any person violating this ordinance shall be
fined not Tess than $1.00, for more than 0100.00, or may be
sentenced to hard labor for the Town for not exceeding six
months, either or both.
Duly adopted by the Town Council of the Town of `airhope,
Alabama, at a meeting thereof regularly held on the 12th of

J.O. Stimpson that all rules of the Towh Council of the Town
of Fairhope which might prevent, unless suspended, the final
passage and adoption of said ordinance at this meeting, be
and the same
are hereby suspended for the purpose of permitting the final
passage and adoption of said ordinance, at this meeting.
Thequestion being put upon the adoption of said motion
and the suspension of such rules, the roll was called with the
following results:

AYES:/ 040. Berglin, . Sam Dysonr C.A. Gaston, H.P. Pamper and
J.O. Stimpson.
NAYSt None.
The Mayor declared said motion carried and such rUe.s suspended.
Councilman H*O). Berglin then moved that said ordinance
be placed upon its final passage. Councilman J.O. Stimpson
seconded the motion.
The question being put upon the placing of said ordinance
upon its final passage, the roll was called with .the following
results:

AYESLYM. 0. Berglin, Sam Dyson, C.A. Gaston, H.P. Kamper and
J.O. Stimpson.
Nays: None.
The Mayor declared the motion carried. Councilman Sam Dyson
thereupon moved that the said ordinance be finally pa wed and
introduced and read. Councilman H.P. Kamper seconded the
motion.
The question being put upon the final passage and adoption
of said ordinance, the tollyiwas called with the following results:

Nays: None.
The Mayor thereupon declared said motion carried and the
ordinance finally passed and adopted. The Mayor thereupon
signed the said ordinance in approval thereof.
It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by
Councilman H.P. Kamper that a building permit be issued to
Ed Sheldon to build a marquee in front of old Ruge building
on south Section Street as per plans and specifications. on file.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by
Councilman J.O. Stimpson that the American Legion's committee
report Ahd recommendations be accepted and committee dis-
charged. Lotion carried.
It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by
Councilman I.O. Berglin that Raymond Stapleton's salary be
increased to $105.00 per month and Marvin Itichols salary be
increased to 080.00 per month, effective June loth. Yotion
carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
