The a6mittee appointed by the Mayor, consisting of Council-
rsn Sam Dyson and J.O. Stimpson to investigate the application
Y for a building permit of the Standard Oil Company to erect a
filling station at the corner of Church and Fairhope Avenue,
_.._r...a...: reported as follows&
We believe that it would be Inadvisable to allow use of the
sidewalk for use as requested by the applicant as such an
action would hamper the future widening of Flirhape Avenue,
and we further suggest that the applicant be asked to amend
their plans so as to place the gas pumps at least 6 ft. in-
side their property line and we further move that upon pres-
entation of plans so amended that permit be allowed.
It was moved by Councilamn C.A. Gaston and seconded by Council-
man 11.0. Berglin that the committee report on the Standard
Oil Company application for a permit be accepted and the
committee be discharged. Motion carried.
Councilman C.A. Gaston introduced and moved the adoption of
the following resolution:.
