HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-02-1937 Special MeetingSTATE OF ALABA11A BALDWIN COUNTY The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope, County of Baldwin, Alabama met in special session Thursday September 2, 1937 at 7:30 O'clock P.M. when and where the following members were present, to -wit; Howard Ruge, Mayor, Sam Dyson, C. A. Gaston, H. P. Kamper and J. 0. Stimpson, Councilmen. On motion of Councilman be Councilman H. P. Kamper, was unanimously adopted: J. 0. Stimpson, seconded the following resolution BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Fairhope sell to Jermina McCalla Nichols the following described real property situated in the Town of Fairhope, Baldwin County, Alabama, to -wit: From a large Magnolia tree which is the Northwest corner of Section 18, Barron Deherriet Grant°- thence run S 50 o E 230 feet, to the East margin of 1viobile Avenue, for a point of beginning; thence S 50 o E 95 feet; thence N 40 o E 275 feet to the South margin of Nichols St., thence N 50 o W 148 feet along the South margin of Nichols St. to the SE intersection of Nichols St. andblobile Ave.; thence S 27 o 45' VT2.76 feet to the point of beginn - ing, in Section 37 Barron De Ferriet Grant accord - ing to the Acts of Congress approved June 1 , 1858. the purchase,price to be paid by the said Jermina McCalla Nichols for the said property is y 19000.00 cash and the payment of the taxes on the said property for the year 1937 and the assumption and agreement on the part of the said. purchaser to pay street improvement assessments on the said property in the sum of 180.40 due in eight installments of 22.55 each, with interest thereon. BE IT FURTHEER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby directed to cgnvey the aforesaid property to the said Jermina McCalla Nichols according to the aforesaid terms by statutory warranty deed, reserving to said Town a Vendor's Lien on the aforesaid property, with the usual powers of sale, to secure the payment of the said street improvement assessment. fleeting adjourned.
