Hall in the Town of Fairhope, Alabama, at 7 O'clock JR. M. , on the 14th day of June, 1937, when and where the following members were present: Howard Ruge, Mayor; C. A. Gaston H. P. Kamper, Sam Dyson J. 0. Stimpson, hi. 0. Berglin, Councilmen, the same constituting the full membership of the Town Council. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The following bills were allowed Council - men Sam Dyson not voting. After discussion of the various prices and the advantages of each, Councilman C. A. Gaston made a motion. that the Town purchase a 30 day supply from L. W. Schnitzer. There being no second the motion was lost. It was moved by H. P. Kamper, that the Town continue to buy fuel oil from Forster & Sons at the market price plus one cent per gallon freight handling charge, on fuel 32 - 36 gravity point. It was seconded by Councilman Sam Dyson. Motion Carried. The Hospital committee reported unfavorably on the establishment of a municipal hospital at the present time. It was moved by Councilman Sam Dyson and seconded by Councilman M. 0. Berglin that the report be accepted and the committee be discharged. Motion carried. The following resolution was offered by Councilman C. A. Gaston, who moved its adoption, the same being read, The motion was seconded by Councilman M. 0. Berglin. The resolution being put upon its passage, was unani.ously adopted said resolution being as follows. WHEREAS the Town having added additional electric generat - ing equipment to its municipal light and power system and in the purc chase of the same has pledged to keep the earnings therefrom seperate from the earnings of the rest of the system thereby necessetating additional clerical and bookeeping work, and whereas the receiving checking and auditing of reports from wholesalers and retail sales of beer in the Town, the inspection of the premises from which beer is sold, the collections and handling -of the beer tax, all will regt¢ire considerable time and work, 4 NOW THEREFORE the hereby required to in addition to the him as Town Clerk, # 3 clerkiof the Town of Fairhope be and is perform all the services recited above other services and duties required of BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for such additional services the Town Clerk be paid the sum of twenty five. dollars a month in addition to the salary heretofore paid him. The following resolutinn was offered by M. 0. Berglin who moved its adoption, the same being read in full,the motion was seconded by J. 0. Stimpson. The resolution being put upon its passage, was unaminously adopted, said resolution being as follows: WHEREAS, the Legal1zation of alcoholic beverages in the Town fif Fairhope has made it necessary and proper that the Town Marshall's duties have been greatly increaded NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Marshall's be+and is --hereby required'_to-be• at all times,, day and night b. subject to call and duty BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that because of such increase in his duties and in compensation therefore the said Town Marshall be paid the sumeof fifteen dollars per month in addition to the .salary heretofore paid him. It was moved by Councilman C. A. Gaston and seconded by tR. 0. Berglin that 'the following proposed amendments to rules and regulations for electric service of the Town of Fairhope be adopted. •�'' Proposed rate adjustment: Beginning with current ,�.,.. used June, 1937 all consumers using Electric Ranges and/or Electric Refrigerators shall be rated on the objective rate, provided that such Ranges or Refrigerators are not used in transient or temporary quarters, but are permenently installed in homes and in continuous year around use. PROPOSED amendments to Rules & Regulations for electric service, 6f the Town of Fairhope:. (1) Effective June 15th, 19379 wiring for Range or Water Heater installatidns in houses rented on short term basis, or occupied by transient residents,, shall be installed at the cost of the applicant or owner. The Town will continue to furnish and install service wires from street to property and will furnish meter socket and meter for installation in entrance wiring. Service entrance wiring, meter socket and main swituh installed under these conditions shall remain. as permanent wireing and shall not be removed. Where meter service equipment for range or other heavy duty heating appliance service has been•inst&led for any consumer in rented property, any subsequent changes or moving of equipement due to consumer moving to new location, shall be at the cost of said consumer. (2) Gonnection of any property for electric service, applied for and made aft®rc6losing hours of the Town of Fairhope office, will be at a cost of $ 1.00 payable when connection. is made. (3) A miniumn charge of 50 cents will be made for calls on the Town service truck and lineman for replacement of house fuses or other trouble -,shooting originating on premises. (4) Electric Hot Water heaters shall be limited to a demand of fifty (50) watts per gallon of capicity, and a maximum of 2000 watts, unless specifically otherwise authorized by Town of Fairhope Department of Electric Utilities. 4 # 4 Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sam Dyson and seconded by Councilman 21. B. Berglin:that a building permit be issued to Harry Stradling to erect a filling station when plans and specifications conforming to the regulation oLE buildings located in the fire zone be submitted.
