Kamper, and the TOWIT OF FAIR_IHOPE met in 22nd.91937. The following Ruge Mayor, C. A. Gaston, J. 0. Stimpson Councilmen. `11he minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Moved by C. A. Gaston that a committee be appointed to reopen the matter of settlement of Mr. Ralph Young elec- tric light account, and report back to the Council. The motion was seconded by 1.. 0. Stimpson. I.1otion carried the Iayor appointed C. A. Gaston and Sam Dyson as the com- mittee. ;.loved by C. A. Gaston, and seconded by H. P. Kamper that the Town Attorney be directed to prepare necessary and proper ordinance levying a license tax of a half cent (y�) per bottle on beer sold within the corporate limits, and one quarter of a cent (4-1) in police jurisdiction, and pro- viding for a permit before engageing in business as retail- er of beer, and providing a $10.00 permit fee to be re- newed annually. I.1otion Carried. Iloved by Sam Dyson, and seconded by J. 0. Stimpson that the following resolution be adopted. Vi=PREAS, the Town of Fairhope, situated on the Eastern shore of TJobile Bay, is to a large extent a re- sort town, there visiting it large numbers of people from Mobile, Birmingham, t.�ontgomery and other points in the State of Alabama, and from points without the State of Alabama, and in the opinion of the members of the Town Council of the Town of Fairhope a liquor store in the said Town of Fair - hope, operated under the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, would be a profitable enterprise; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Fairhope, that it is the sense of this Council that a liquor store be established in the Town of Fairhope under the Alabama: Alcoholic Beverage Control Act passed Feb- ruary 2nd., 1937, and that request be and hereby is made to the said Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board for the establishment of a liquor store in the said Town of Fairhope.
