The Council Qf the Town of r'airnope met in regular session Monday,
November 9, 1936. The following members were present, noward Ruge,
Mayor, 1. U. Berglin, C . A. Gaston, H. P. hamper, veo . W. Morgan and
J. U. Stimpson, Councilmen.

The following ordinance was introduced by Council man Kemper, read in
full by the Clerk and considered by the Council, said ordinance being
as follows:
AN ORDINANCE
` BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TO71"N' COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA&-
1 FIRST: It shall be unlawful for any person to stop or park any motor
.. vehicle or other behicle within ten feet of either side of a fire hydrant,
'or,�in any manner or place, so as to obstruct free access to a fire hydrant.
SECOND: It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any motor vehicle
or other brehicle over a fire -hose while same is being placed, used or
removed.,
TIM-RD: It sha 1 be unlawful for any person to drive any motor vehicle
' or other vehicle in front of any fiire truck or other firet.fighting equip-
' men&, or in any manner to delay or impede the same, while being driven or
conveyed to or from any fire or on a fire drill.
FOURTHIPI't shall b6e unlawful for any person not authorized to tamper
with, take possession of. or Was any firptruck or fire fighting equipment
in any manner and for any purpose.
FIFTH: Lt shall be unlawful for any person to drive, operate, park
or, stop any motor vehicle otr other vehicle, in such manner as to injure,
Y damage or endanger any fireman, fire truck or other fire fighting equip -
went at a fire or in route to or from a fire, or while engaged in, or
being used in a fire drill; or in any manner, by any means, to endanger]
damage or misuse a fire truck or other fire fighting equipment.
SIXTH: Any person convicted of violating any provision off this
ordinance shall be finednot less than $1.00 nor more than $100.00. and
may also be' sentenced to hard labor for the town for not more than 90
days; and when the liolation of any provision of this ordinance shall
result in damage to any fire truck or gther fire fighting equipment, the
person convicted thereof shall, in addition to the fine and prisonment
provided above, be fined a sum double the amount of the damage resulting
from such violation.
Duly adopted by the Town Council of the Town of JJ'airhope, Alabama,at
a, regular meet4p& thereof held on 9 th day of November, 1Q36.

yt was moved by J. 0. Stimpson and seconded by M. 0. Berglin that
all rules of the Tilwn Council of the Town of r'airhope, k=labams, Uhich
might prevent, unless suspended, the final passage and adoption of said
ordinance at this meeting, be and the same are hereby suspended for the
purpose of permitting the final Jassage and adoption of said ordinance
at this meeting.
The question being upon the adoption of said motion and the suspension
of such rules, the roll was called with the following results:
AYES: Howard Auge, Mayor; M. 0. Berglin, C. A. Gaston, H. R. Kamper,
Geo. W. Morgan and J. U. Stimpson, Uouncilmen.
NAYS: No ne
The mayor declared said motion carried and such rules suspended.
Uouncilman Geo. W. Morgan then moved that said ordinance be now
placed upon its final tassage. Uouncilman C. A. Gastun seconded the motion.
The question being put upon the placing of said ordinance upon its
final passage, the roll was called with the following results:
AYES: Howard Ruge, 'Mayor; M. 0. Berglin, C. A. Gaston. H. P. Kamper,
Geo. W. Morgan and J. 0. Stimpson, Councilmen
NANS None
The Mayor declared the motion carriecl.Councilman Ceo `1. Morgan
thereupon moved that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted as
introduced and read. Councilman Stimpson seconded the motion.

of said ordinance, the roll was called with the following results:

NAYS: None.
The Mayor thereupon declared said motion carried and the cs.,Ou
ordinance finally passed adopted. The mayor thereupon signed said
ordinate in approval thereof.
An ordinance was introduced by C. A. Gaston, read in full by the
clerk and considered by the Council, said ordinance being as follows:
AN ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE:
FIRST: It shall be unlawful for any�erson to drive or operate
any vehicle on or along the asphalt streets of the Town of ifairhope
with metal time, lugs, or cleats, or with any part of the vehicle or
the load theron in such conditions as to damage such asphalt pavement.
SECOND: Any person convicted of violating this ordinance shall
be tined not less than $1.00 nor more than 09:00 and may also be
sentenced to hard labor for the town for not'more than 90 days.

at a regular meeting thereof held on 9th day of November, 1936

It was moved by M. 0. Berglin and seconded by C. A. Gaston that
all rules of the 'Town Cguncil of the Town of jairhope, iilabama, which
might prevent, unless suspended, thae final passage and adoption of said
ordinance at this meeting, be ant�the same are hereby suspended for the
purpose of permitting the final passage and adoption of said ordinance
at this meeting.
