BALDWIN COUNTY The Town Council of the Town of 14'airhope, County of Baldwin, Alabama, met in adjourned session at the `l'uwn Hall at 7:30 O'clock P. Iii. , on the 17tri day of July, 1935, when and where the following members were present, to -wit: Howard Ruge, kayor; C. ,,. Gaston, W. U. Keeble, T. J. Klurrpp and J. 0. Stimpson, uuun- cilmen. M. J. Berglin,Uouncilma.n being absent the same constituting the full membership of the Town Council. That within ten (10) days after written notive to them, all persons owning homes, business and other property in the town of Fairhope requiring trie disposal of sewerage are nereoy required to apply to the Town Clerk for a permit and to make proper connection with the sewerage systt-:m of the Town of Fairhope for the disposal of seviera.rJ e; such permit shall be in words and figures substantially as follows; " PERMIT is hereby granted to At , in the Town of Fairi ope, Alabama, to connect witTi the town sanitary sewerage system, subject to the rules and tegulations of the town. This permit may be revoked at�-_ny time that the holder of said permit shall in any gray damage the sewerage system of the Town of r'airhope. Dated this the day of 1935. Town Clerk. Connections under the foregoing permit inspected and approved this the day of 1935- Town (See instructions on other side. S Section 2. The specifications for connecting with the sanitary sewerage system of the town are as follows: (a), All connections shall be made to existing house lines f back of the curb or to a Yin the main ]pine. The main line shall - not be out, except ly special permission of the Town of Fairhope. (b) All pipe shall be of standard vitrified clay, or number one concirete, bell and spigot hype not less than four inches in i diaateter, except where a single line serves two premises a minimum of six inch pipe shall be used. s (a) All joints shall be filled with cement mortar and packed with Jute filler to prevent infiltration. (d) No dirt or other fvd sign substance shall be left in the sewer line. (e) No line or connection shall be covered until inspected by the city and written acceptance thereof given, to be noted on orginal ermit . . f Where required, sand traps, grease traps, and o the protect- ive devices shall be installed by the property owner, subject to' the ap roval of the Town of Fairhope. fg) The Town shall not be responsible for grades used on house es, It shall be the duty of the property owner to see that all lines are laid with sufficient fall to the main sewer to assure satin - factory operation. Section 3. There shall be a charge of $1.50 for each permit issued, which sum shall cover the cost of inspection and suitable adapter. The charges for aew.er shall be included in the tti lls fbrli water services, and no person shall be permitted tg pay for water orgy sewer charges without paying for both. Section 4. The following shall be the schedule of service charges; (a). A minimum-bf1$1.00 per. month with a 50; discount. 'This discount to apply only do minimum rate unlesk the Government requires the rown to -change customers 01.00 per month net, as outlined in Loan and Grant Agpii-eatton. (b) Average structure with bath -room, including toilet and lavatory, and kitchen sin7s will be subject to minimum rate. Additional fixtures will be charged for ant tate of five (5) cents each, per month. (c) Charges to industrial concerns will be based on amount and character of sewerage for the present. j Section 5. This ordinance shall be published as required by law. Section 6. This ordinance shall go into effect upon it approval by the M%yor. Ths question being put upon the final passage and adoption of said ordinance, the roll was called with the following results: AYES: Howard xuge, Mayor; C. A. Gaston, W. 0. Keeble, T. J. Klumpp and J. 0. btimpson, Councilmen* NAYS: Hone.
