The Town Council of the Town of Bairhope met in special session
in the Town Hall on October 3, 1934, at 7:30 P M The meeting
was Balled to order by Kaayor Ruge.
Those present were Howard Ruge, Mayor; and M. 0. Berglin, C. A.
Gaston, W. 0. Keeble, T . J. Klumpp and J. 0. Stimpson, Councilmen.
° The Mayor stated that the meeting was called for the a.Y g purpose of
determining whether concrete pipe or vitrified clay pipe should be
specified in the specifications for the "ewer and Water Works Pro-
ject; also whether a certain area. at i3ection Street and Oak titreet
should be eliminated from the project.
The following resolution was introduced by U. A. Gaston, read in full
and considered by the Council;
RESOLVED that the Town of b*airhope instruct its engineer, J. B. Con-
verse and Co. inc. to specify that the pipe to be used in the Sewer
and Water Works Project shall be of 'vitrified clay and no ather.
C. A. Gaston moved that the resolution be adopted as introduced and
read. The motion was sectondod by J. 0. Stimpson.
The question being put the roll was stilled, with the following re-
sult:
Ayes: Howard Huge, Mayor; M. U. Berglin; C. A. Gaston, W. U.
Keeble, T. J. Klumpp and J. 0. Stimpson, Councilmen

J. 0. Stimpson moved that, that part of the neighborhood near
Section Street and Oak Street be omited frogs the Sewer Project.
Motion was seconded by T . J. Klumpp.
The question being put the roll w sLcalled with the following re-
sult:
Ayes: Howard huge, Mayor; M. 0. Berglin, C. A. Gaston, W. U
Keeble, T. J. Klumpp and J.O. Stimpson, Councilmen.
Noes; done.
C A. Gaston made a motion seconded by _W 0. Berglin that the
Uouncil offer to those present a vote of thanks for meeting and
conferring with them on these matter. Motion carried unanimously.

The Oath off Office was adminis-
tered to the newly elected Mayor
and C'ouncIl, -who proceeded with
their first meeting, Mayor Ruge
presiding.
Nomination of Gladys Lowell for
the office of Clerk was made by
Councilman Gaston and seconded
by 'Councilman Keeble. Upon roll
gall the vote stood Mayor Ruge,
5uncilmen,Benglin, Gaston,Keeble,
ble, Klumpp and Stimpson aye.
Noes, none, and the ;Mayor declar-
ed Gladys Lowell duly elected to
Nomination of J. H. Titus Mr the
1 office of (Marshal was made by
1 Councilman Klumpp and cecouded
by Councilman Berglin. Upon roll
call the vote stood Mayor 'Ruge,
C-ouncilmen Beglin, Gaston,.Kee!ble.
Klumpp .and. 'Stimpson ayes. Noes
none, and the Mayor declared J. H.
Titus duly elected to the office.
'The appointment of an A1.toiney
was deferred.
A motion by Counteilm'an Gaston
seconded by Councilman 'Stimpson
that a committee be appointed to
consider attorneys available for the
office and that consideration be giv.
en to Mr. H. M. Hull; carried and
Councilmen Klumpp, Keeble and
Berglin were appointed.
Motion 'by Councilman Klurapp
seconded 'by Councilman Stimpson
that the Council meet in the 'Town
Hall on the second and. (fourth Mon-
days of each month at 7:30 P. M.,
carried.

The follon ing resolution was, in-
troduced by Councilman Gaston:
BE I'T RE'SOLVED ,that the Coun-
cil express the thanks of the Com-
munity to the retiring officers for
their 'past services in the adminili-
tration of the 'Towns business.
'Councilman Gaston moved the
adoption of the resolution as read:
