HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-1442ORDINANCE NO. 1442 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1255 KNOWN AS THE PERSONNEL RULES, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE ALABAMA, as follows: Section 1. The ordinance known as the Personnel Rules, Policies, and Procedures Ordinance (No. 1255), adopted 27 June 2005, together with the Personnel Handbook of the City of Fairhope, be and the same hereby is changed and altered in respect to the certain sections below: Add the following to: VI. Employee Benefits Section 6.01. Health Insurance Benefits Beginning January 1, 2011, the City shall make no contributions toward dental insurance for employees or retirees. Dental insurance will be available on a voluntary basis to employees, with full cost paid by payroll deduction. Retirees electing to have dental insurance will pay the full premium at the beginning of each month, along with their portion of the health insurance premium. Add the following to: Section 6.05. Insurance Benefits for Retirees Beginning October 1, 2010, the City shall make no contribution to Retiree healthcare premiums for employees hired after September 30, 2010. The Balance of Sections 6.01 and 6.05 remain as written, published and codified. Section 2. The sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, then such ruling shall not affect any other paragraphs and sections, since the same would have been enacted by the municipality council without the incorporation of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its due adoption and publication as required by law. Adopted this 8th Day of November, 2010 Attest: i s a A. H6 nks, Ci Clerk
