AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1225
COUNCIL PROCEDURES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA,
That the order of procedure in all instances for meetings of the Council shall be as follows
(Amending Ordinance No. 1225):
• SECTION 8. An agenda shall be prepared by the City Clerk for all business to come before each
regular session and all business to be transacted shall be put on the agenda no later than
Wednesday Noon.
• Emergency items may be added to the end of the regular agenda up to 24 hours pass Wednesday's
deadline with unanimous consent of the Council President and Vice President.
• If the City Clerk does not receive confirmation from the Council President to add all emergency
items by Thursday noon these items will not appear on the regular agenda.
• All other item may be added to the regular agenda during the regular City Council meeting upon
receiving a motion and seconded and unanimous vote by the City Council.
• The agenda must be faxed to the local newspaper by Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
• The Council books shall be ready for pick up no later then 4:00 p.m. on Thursday before the next
regular Council meeting on the following Monday night.
This ordinance replaces and supersedes all previous ordinances in conflict therewith.
Severability. Each and every provision of this ordinance is hereby declared to be an
independent provision and the holding of any provision hereof to be void and
invalid -shall not affect any other provision hereof, and it is hereby declared that
the other provisions of this ordinance would have been enacted regardless of
any provision which might have been held invalid.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective on the first day of April 2007. This
ordinance shall be in full force upon its adoption and publication as provided by
law.
ADOPTED THIS 261h DAY OF March , 2007.
