DWR 429 FAIRHOPE, AL 36533 m CITY OF FAIRHOPE CITY COUNCIL COVER SHEET October 11, 1999 Consideration of Adjusting the User Fees for the Planning and Building Department The Planning and Building Department has conducted a survey of other communities to research user fees for services. Please find attached a summary of the survey. The survey also indicates what we currently charge and what is proposed. As you can tell, our fees are below and in some cases dramatically below what other communities are charging. It is my understanding that the user fees charged by the Planning and Building Department have not been adjusted in many years. The attached Ordinance adjusts the user fees to be more competitive with other cities. It also represents a greater reclamation of costs that are incurred with new development proposals.
