AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH NEW GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE
BENEFIT FOR RETIRED EMPLOYEES AND SPOUSES UNTIL
ELIGIBLE FOR MEDICARE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE,
ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. Chapter VI. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS, Section 2. GROUP HEALTH
INSURANCE, City of Fairhope Personnel Rules and Regulations,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2. HEALTH CARE INSURANCE
Premium paid for employee and family in full by the
City of Fairhope. Employees who have fulfilled all
the requirements to qualify for retirement from the
City of Fairhope, and who are at least 55 years old,
may be eligible to continue to receive the same
Health Care benefits as regular employees until they
are eligible for MEDICARE; EXCEPT the retired employee
shall have to pay 10% of the insurance cost.
The retired employee will not be eligible to receive
the Health Care benefits if they are employed by any
other Employer that covers them with Workmen's Compen-
sation Benefits, and are eligible for Health Care
Benefits from that Employer."
2. This ordinance effective immediately upon its due adoption
and publication as required by law.
