AN ORDINANCE TO
THE ELIMINATION
LINES OF SIGHT
ALABAMA.
ORDINANCE NO. 9 /4
PROVIDE FOR INCREASED PUBLIC SAFETY THROUGH
OF CONGESTION AND THE MAINTENANCE OF CLEAR
AT INTERSECTIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE,
ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. From and after the date of enactment of this ordinance
the parking of any vehicle on any city street parallel
to the street centerline nearer than twenty-five (25)
feet to the corner of the intersection of any other
street or alley, or the parking of any vehicle in such
other manner as to obscure the view from any intersec-
tion of any vehicle approaching within one hundred
(100) feet of the center of the intersection is hereby
declared to be an unlawful act and a violation of this
ordinance;
I Provided however, that the foregoing shall not apply
to any intersection controlled by automated traffic
signals while such signals are in operation; nor shall
it apply to any vehicle properly parked in an officiall:

i designated, marked parking space.

Section 2. Violation of this ordinance shall be punishable by a
fine not less than Twenty -Five Dollars ($25.00) and not
more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). Each and
every day that said violation continues shall constitut,
a separate offense.
ISection 3. The Chief of Police or any police officer of the City
I of Fairhope be and hereby is authorized to issue cita-
tions for violations of this ordinance, said citations
returnable to the Municipal Court.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
due adoption and publication as required by law.
