HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-679ORDINANCE NO. 679 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 676 WHICH ESTABLISHED ELECTRICAL RATES FOR ALL ELECTRICAL CUSTOMERS SERVED BY THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE. Section One of Ordinance No. 676 is hereby amended to read as follows: RESIDENTIAL R-1 RATE shall be the same as the Family Dwelling -Residential Service Rate of Alabama Power Company (Rate FD)*and shall remain the same as Alabama Power Company's rate whenever said rate is changed by the Alabama Public Service Commission; EXCEPT there will be no Levelized Monthly Billing Option and no tax adjustments as set forth in Alabama Power Company's Rate T. The amount calculated at the rates shown for Alabama Power Company's Rate FD will be increased under the provisions of Alabama Power Company's Rate ECR (Energy Cost Recovery) by applying the effective Energy Cost Recovery factor in lieu of a Fuel Cost Adjustment provided for under Section Nine of Ordinance No. 676. Residential R-1 Rates will not be subject to the rules and regulations approved or prescribed by the Alabama Public Service Commission, including any Special Rules and Regulations governing the application of Alabama Power Company's Rate FD. Schedule attached. SECTION TWO. Section Seven of Ordinance No. 676 is hereby amended to read as follows: 4.0% State Utility Tax is applicable to all rates except City Use and agencies of the Federal Government. Fuel Cost Adjustment, as set out in Section Nine, Ordi- nance No. 676, is applicable to all rates except Security Lights and Residential R-1 customers including Schools and Churches. SECTION THREE. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its Jue adoption and publication; and will be applied beginning with the first billing cycle in August, 1981, and thereafter until changed; as required by law. APPLICABILITY Applicable for service to single residences and individual family apartments. Service shall not be resold or shared with ,others except that when two or more family dr:el1ing units are served through a single meter, all provisions of the rate and minirlurrr shall t,c applied as though each dwellir•ig unit had been separately metered and the actual metered consumption were divided equally between each unit. , CHARACTER OF SERVICE Single phase service at approximately 120 or 120/240-volts. MONTHLY RATE Customer Charge: $3.75 per customer; plus 0 Charge for Energy: SUMMER BILLING MONTHS (June through Oct). WINTER BILLING MONTHS(Nov. through May) 3.37t per KWH for all KWH. 3.37t per KWH for the first 1000 K'WH; plus 2.35¢ per KWH for all over 1000 KWH. MINIMUM BILL No monthly bill shall be less than $3.75 plus applicable provisiQns of Rate T. LEVELIZED MONTHLY BIL#ING - OPTIONAL See Special Rules governing application of this rate. PAYMENT Bills for service rendered hereunder are payable.with ten (10) days from due date and if not paid within such period become delinquent and subject to charges as set forth in the Company's Rules and Regulations.
