HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-676ORDINANCE NO. 676 AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH RATES FOR ALL ELECTRICAL CUSTOMERS SERVED BY THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama, as follows: The following electrical rates are hereby adopted for all electrical customers served by the City of Fairhope: SECTION ONE - RESIDENTIAL R-1 The R-1 rate shall be the same as the Family Dwelling -Residential Service Rate of Alabama Power Company, Rate FD, and shall remain the same as Alabama Power Company's rate whenever said rate is changed by the Alabama Public Service Commission. Schedule attached.* SECTION TWO - COMMERCIAL C-1 Demand is less than 50 W. First 20 kWH per month @ 4.00 minimum, plus Next 1980 kWH per month @ .064 , plus Next 3000 kWH per month @ .060 , plus Next 7000 kWH per month @ .054 , plus All over 12000 kWH per month @ .047 , plus FCA & Tax SECTION THREE - INDUSTRIAL I-1 Demand 50 kW and above. All Demand @ 4.00 per kW per month; MINIMUM DEMAND is 75% of highest demand imposed during preceding 11 months, but not less than 38 kW or 152.00 minimum, plus First 201,000 kWH per month @ .042 , plus Next 80,000 kWH per month @ .038 , plus Next 100,000 kWH per month @ .034 , plus All over 200,000 kWH per month @ .031 , plus FCA $ Tax SECTION FOUR - SCHOOLS $ CHURCHES All kWH at Residential Rate R-1. SECTION FIVE - SECURITY LIGHTS 175 W. MV Security Light @ 6.25 per month, plus Tax 400 W. MV Security Light @ 11.00 per month, plus Tax SECTION SIX - CITY USE All kWH per month @ .042 , plus FCA SECTION SEVEN - TAXES & FUEL COST ADJUSTMENT (FCA) 4.0% State Utility Tax is applicable to all rates except City Use and agencies of the Federal Government. Fuel Cost Adjustment applicable to all rates except Security Lights. SECTION EIGHT - APPLICABILITY Residential - Single residences, mobile home where such are individually metered an individual family apartments where service is paid by occupant. Commercial - Non-residential, where the maximum 15-minute integrated demand oes not exceed 49 kW. Service to more than one premises shall not be combined, nor shared with or resold to others. Ord. No. 16 , page 2. r A Industrial - Where integrated 15-minute demand is 50 kW or more, where the entire electrical requirements of the customer are furnished by the City. Service to more than one premises shall not be combined, nor shared with or resold to others. Schools - Residential rate R-1 shall apply to both public and private, primary and secondary schools regardless of the size of their electrical requirements. The monthly registration of two or more meters serving the same premises shall not be combined for billing purposes. SecurityyL_i Lights - For mercury vapor lights with photoelectric control when installed �by the City for private or commercial use and where the City furnishes electricity and maintains both light and control. Owner- ship of such lights shall reside in the City. City Use - All electricity used by the various City departments shall be accounted for monthly and reported to the Mayor. Churches - Service to more than one premises shall not be combined, nor shared with or resold to others. The monthly registration of two or more meters serving the same premises shall not be combined for billing purpos SECTION NINE - SCHEDULE FCA, FUEL COST ADJUSTMENT The product of the monthly kWH consumption times - fuel cost adjustment fac- tor shall be added to the consumer's bill computed at the base rate. The fuel cost adjustment factor shall be calculated from the current month's wholesale power bill of Alabama Power Company as follows: FCA FACTOR = A + B' + C P where A = current month's estimated energy cost adjustment (dollars) B = second preceding month's estimated energy cost adj.(dollars) C = second preceding month's actual energy cost adj. (dollars) P = current month's energy purchased from APC excluding SEPA allotment (kWH) In the event the sum (A+B+C) results in a negative figure, the product of the monthly kWH usuage times the FCA Factor shall be deducted from the consumer's base rate bill. SECTION TEN '- ' ' PAYMENT '' Bills are payable within ten (10) days from due date, and if not paid within such period, shall be increased by an amount to be determined by the City Council. SECTION ELEVEN - All Ordinances in conflict hereunto be, and the same are, repealed. This Ordinance shall take effect upon due adoption and publication as required by law. APPLICABILITY ,� Applicable for service to single residences and individual family apartments. Service shaii not be resold or shared with others except that when two or more family dwelling units are served through a single meter, all provisions of the rate and minimum shall be applied as though each dwelling unit had been separately metered and the actual metered consumption were divided equally between each unit. CHARACTER OF SERVICE Single phase service at approximately 120 or 120/240 volts. WINTER BILLING MONTHS(Ndv. through May) 4.52� per KWH for all W. 4.52d per KWH for the first 1000 KIWH; plus 3.5t per KWH for all over 1000 KWH.
