Though Fairhope is by no means "trashy", we can improve our litter program by capturing litter at some of the city's known hot spots. Outreach (watershed signage) may also be included . If awarded, this grant would supplement Fairhope's existing litter program which includes street sweeping, litter pick up by Public Works staff and the existing litter boom in the Winn Dixie pond off Morphy Avenue . MS4 (Fairhope's stormwater permit) requires Fairhope to have an ever-evolving litter program and encourages monitoring and reporting quantities of litter collected. This will help us achieve that goal. This grant requires no matching funding from the City of Fairhope The details of this proposal include staff being involved in grant acquisition, coordination with the contractor and reporting. If awarded, the contractor would provide installation, materials and maintenance of all litter abatement devices . Furthermore, litter collection will be conducted by the contractor at and around the abatement site (within 100' of abatement site) and these amounts will be included in the reporting and profiling of litter collected .
