Bishop moved to introduce the following Ordinance: ORDINANCE NO. 613 AN ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE ALL ELECTRICAL WORK DONE WITHIN THE CITY LIMI`i'S OF FAIRHOPE TO HAVE A PERMIT.ISSUED BY THE BUILDING INSPECTOR OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, AND SETTING A FEE THEREFOR WITH EXCEPTIONS OF HOMEOWNERS DOING ELECTRICAL WORK ON 'THEIR OWN PREMISES AND THE ELECTRICAL JOB TO BE INSPECTED BY THE ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF FA.IR- HOPE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA: SECTION 1.. There is hereby required by all licensed electricians working within the corporate limits of the City of Fairhope, to obtain a permit for any electrical job done within the corporate limits of the City of Fairhope. SECTION 2. There is hereby established a FIVL' DOLLAR ($5.00) fee for issuing the said electrical permit by all licensed electricians. SECTION 3. There is hereby excepted from the FIVE DOLLAR ($5.00) permit all electrical contractors performing electrical work on new homes where the City of Fairhope has issued a building permit therefor. SECTION 4. There is hereby excepted from the FIVE DOLLAR ($5.00) permit any property owner who is doing his own electrical work on his own premises. SECTION 5. That all licensed electrical contractors performing work within the corporate limits of the City of Fairhope, Alabama and who has obtained the necessary permits, shall notify the electrical department, and the electrical department shall inspect the electrical work in progress and upon completion. SECTION 6. Any person violating the terms of this ordinance :;hall, upon conviction, be fined not less than One Dollar ($1..00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) at the discretion of the Court. SECTION 7. Every day the violation continues, shall be deemed a separate offense. SECTION 8. All Ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 9.
