FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, AND REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLI
THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA THAT THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE OF RATE
FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE FURNISHED FROM THE ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION
SYSTEM OF 'I'.HE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREE

1. RATE FOR DOMESTIC RESIDENTIAL ELECTRIC SERVICE
AVAILABILITY
t
Available in all areas served by the City owned Electric
i
System.
P.,PPLICABILITY
' Applicable to single residences, mobile homes where suc
'I are individually metered, and individual family apartments where
cost, of service is paid by the occupant.
CHARACTER OF SERVICE
Single or three-phase service at 120/240 volts 60 Hertz
j MONTHLY RATE - $3.00 minimum
First 50 KWH per month at 6.0 cents, plus
next 200 KWH per month at 4.0 cents, plus
next 750 KWH per month at 3.0 cents, plus
all over 1000 KWH/month at 2.3 cents for months of
October to April, and
all over 1000 KWH/month at 3.0 cents for months of
May through September.
Plus, preceding month's Alabama Power Company Fuel Adder
billed, if above Zero.
MINIMUM BILL
The minimum monthly bill shall be $3.00.
TAXES
The above rate is that charged by the City of Fairhope,
and any ,additional charges levied by the State or Federal author-
ities such as sales taxes, will be passed on to the consumer_ in
addition to the above rate schedule.
PAYMENTS
Bills for service rendered hereunder are payable wi
ten (10) days from due date and if not paid within such period,
shall be increased by a delinquent fee of 5% of total bill.

TERM OF CONTRACT
Service hereunder shall be for an initial period of twelve

(12) months and thereafter from month to month until terminated
by proper authorization.
II. RATE FOR GENERAL ELECTRIC SERVICE - COMMERCIAL
AVAILABILITY
Available in all areas served by the City of Fairhope-owned
Electric System.
APPLICABILITY
Applicable for non-residential lighting and power service
where the maximum 15-minute.integrated demand does not exceed
49 KW. Service to more than one premises not to be combined,
nor shall it be shared with or resold to others.
CHARACTER OF SERVICE
Single or three-phase service;' or combination of both, ;at
the nominal secondary voltage, or at the available primary d:istri
bution line voltage in special cases. Any consumer receiving
service at two different voltages will be considered as two
separate consumers. The type of metering is to bEt specified by
the City.
MONTHLY RATES
First 50 KWH per month at 6.5 cents, plus
Next 150 KWH per month at 5.5 cents, plus
Next 1800 KWH per month at 4.8 cents, plus
Next 3000 KWH per month at 4..3 cents, plus
Next 7000 KWH per month at 3.5 cents, plus
All over 12,000 KWH/month at 3.0 .cents, plus
Preceding month's Alabama Power Company Fuel Adder Billed to City
if above Zero.
MINIMUM BILL

The foregoing rate is that charged by the City and any addi-
tional charges levied by State or Federal authorities, such as
sales taxes, will be passed on to the consumer in addition to the
above schedule.

Where service is provided hereunder for a period of less

temporary, a surcharge of 25% shall be added to each month's bill
after the bill has been computed in accordance with the rate. Ir.

I� III. INDUSTRIAL ELECTRIC RATES
AVAILABILITY
Available in all areas served by the City -owned Electric
it System.

1i APPLICABILITY
Applicable for lighting, power, and miscellaneous electric
service whose integrated 15-minute demand is 50 KW or more, where
the entire electrical requirements of the consumer are furnished
by the City. Service to more than one premises shall not be
combined, nor shall it be shared with or resold to others.
CHARACTER OF SERVICE
Three-phase service, or combination of single and three-phas4,
at the voltage of the available primary or secondary distribution

lines of the City. Any Consumer receiving service at two differ-
ent voltages will be considered as two separate consumers. The
�I type of metering is to be specified by the City. This rate is
I based on ownership of transformation facilities by the City (for
primary voltage ratings of 13 KV and below); however, ownership
I
of such by the consumer is subject to negotiation by and with
ithe City.
TERM OF CONTRACT
Service hereunder shall be for an initial period of two
(2) years and thereafter from month to month until terminated
by -thirty (30) days written notice.
TEMPORARY OR SEASONAL SERVICE
Where service hereunder is provided for a period of less tha
/or
one (1) year,(continuously) at the request of the consumer,/where
service is seasonal or temporary, a surcharge of twenty-five (25%
percent shall be added to each month's bill after the bill_ has
been computed in accordance with the rate.
MONTHLY RATE
DEMAND: First 20,000 KWH per month at 3.0 cents, plus
Next 80,000 KWH per month at 2.4 cents, plus
Next 100,000 KWH per month at 2.0 cents, plus
All over 200,000 KIAH/month at 1.7 cents, plus
preceding month's Alabama Power Company Wholesale Fuel Adder bill
if above 'Zero.
DETERMINATION OF BILLING DEMAND,
The demand for billing purposes shall be the maximum measur
integrated 15 minute interval demand during each billing period
of approximately thirty (30) days, measured in KW (kilowatts);
provided, however, that no demand shall be taken at less than
seventy-five percent (75%) of the maximum demand established. dur
any of the eleven (11) preceding months, nor less than 38 KW.
MINIMUM BILL
The minimum bill shall not be less than computed from a.
seventy-five (75%) percent of the larges demand in KW established
during the preceding eleven (11) months, nor less than $102.60.

Iv. MISCELLANEOUS RATE SCHEDULES
1 ;SCHOOLS
To both public and private primary and secondary schools,
regardless of the size of their electrical requirements, the
1 following monthly rate shall apply:
i
For all KWH used during each monthly period at 2.6 cents
per ]KWH, with no monthly minimum or demand charge, plus
a Fuel Cost Adjustment adder. The registration of two or
more meters may be combined each month for billing purposes.
The other rate schedule provisions of the industrial power
rate shall apply to schools.
11 PRIVATE ATHLETIC FIELDS
Electric service to lighted athletic fields where the light-
ing installation is financed and maintained by private ownerships
shall be billed on the following basis for such months as the
field. is in use:
A11 ICWH used during each monthly period at 5.0 cents per
KWH, with no monthly minimum or demand charge, and no
charges to be made furing months when the field is not
in use, plus a fuel cost adjustment adder.
SECURITY LIGHTS
For 175 W mercury vapor security lights with photo -electric
control when installed by the City for private use, where its
electricity is furnished by the City „ and where the luminaire ani
control are maintained by the City, the monthly rate shall be a
flat charge of $4.25. Ownership of such lights is to reside in
the City .
CITY USE
All. electricity used by the various City departments shall
be accounted for monthly and a report made monthly to the Mayor
of the ICWH used by the following:
City Hall
Police and Fire Station
City Warehouse & Shops
Electric Substation Use
Civic Buildings
Water Pumps
Sewer Plants and Lift Stations
Firemans' Club
Street Lights & Pier Lighting
Traffic Lights
Lighted Athletic Fields
All electricity used by the above shall be valued. at 2.4 cer
per KWH.

CHURCHES
All churches are to be billed on the residential rate.
V. FUEL COST ADJUSTMENT
The product of the monthly KWH used times a fuel cost,.
adjustment factor shall be added to the foregoing Miscellaneous
Schedule,§ where indicated.
This Fuel Cost Adjustment Factor shall be the latest
energy cost adjustment factor billed to the City at wholesale
by the Alabama Power Company, or Zero, whichever is greater.
ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH ARE HEREBY
REPEALED.
'Phis Or_diance shall take effect upon its adoption and
publication as required by law.
